| Summary | Status: indeterminate (Category IV), little studied species. It is distributed in southern Siberia, northeastern Mongolia, northwestern China and in the western part of the Altai mountains in eastern Kazakstan. This animal primarily inhabits mountain taiga forests, wetlands and rocky ledges. Until recently it had been observed in the Commonwealth of Independent States only 12 times. It is not as rare now as it used to be, but the population is still very low. Basic limiting factors have not been studied. This species is protected in the Markakol Reserve. |
