Summary | Status: rare (Category III), it is found in only two areas of Kazakstan - in the Karatau mountains near Shymkent and the Western Ustyurt Plateau. It inhabits desert landscapes in the Karatau mountains and the mountainous areas of Turkmenistan. The size of the population in Kazakstan is unknown. In other areas within its range up to 30 specimens have been found. The basic limiting factors are unknown. It is protected in the Ustyurt Reserve, as well as in the majority of reserves of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. |
