Information
Summary Status: indeterminate (Category IV), an unstudied and rare species found within a very limited habitat, the variegated racerunner has only recently been described in Kazakstan and is known from only a few specimens. This reptile species inhabits eastern Kazakstan and the Aigyr Kum Desert, which marks the northern limit of its range. The females are known to lay only 1 or 2 eggs at a time, but other biological factors have not been studied. The reasons for its limited distribution have not been determined. Artificial breeding has not been done and protection measures have not yet been developed. It is necessary to further study the distribution and biology of species.
