| Summary | Status: rare (Category III), in Kazakstan this snake is known only from single specimens collected between the Volga and Ural Rivers in the Bes Chokho Steppe region. The whipsnake moves very fast, is extremely aggressive and makes a loud hissing sound when disturbed. With good care, this snake can live many years in captivity. Artificial breeding has not been done and no protective measures have been developed for the species to date. It is important to study the basic biology, contemporary distribution and range of this species. |
