Summary Status: rare (Category III), a poorly known snake species. The cliff racer lives in the Boralday, Maly and Karatau mountains, in the Kyrgyz Range and in the northern part of the Aral Sea Basin. The main limiting factors have not been identified. Artificial breeding has not been developed and no protective measures are in place at this time. Part of its core habitat is included in the planned Karatau Reserve. It is necessary to study the distribution and biology of this snake.
